Aransas Pass Bass Fishing Report January 12, 2002

Gunns Guide Service Weekly Lake Fork Fishing Report Texas parks and wildlife’s trophy study on Lake Fork was a real success. Last year from March to August TPW did a trophy study for bass over 7 pounds. It showed that Lake Fork produced a fish over 7 for every 18 acres of the lake. Results showed that out of state anglers were very successful at Lake Fork. Of all the bass caught 44% were from out of state anglers. These reports were conservative and that perhaps as many as twice that number were caught as reported. There were almost 1,600 trophies caught. One day in March there were 47 trophies caught in that day. March as a month totaled almost 700 fish over 7 pounds. Almost 20% of the fish caught were over 10 pounds! Of the 1,600 bass caught the number of 10 pounds + fish was 14%. The spring is the best time to catch a Lake Fork lunker although you can catch a trophy any time or any month on Lake Fork.
