Fishing Report I managed to get out this past weekend in the afternoon. Storms were rolling in and I think I was the only one heading out while all the other were heading for cover. The wind blew and there was a littel rain but luckily for me the bad stuff went to the north and to the south of me. I had been hearing that there are a lot of fish being caught in the pepper grass but I really wanted to check some deeper grass. I started out around Farmers trying to crank the outer edges of the hydrilla looking for some better fish but I only managed 1 bite, about a 2Lb fish that jumped off half way to the boat. I then ran to some areas that are known to produce this time of year. I started getting a few bites over the pepper grass with a bass assassin but the wind was making it hard to fish. I switched over to a Stanley Baby Wedge spinnerbaits chrt/wht and that seemed to be the ticket. I emmediately caught a good solid 2 3/4 lb fish on the edge of the pepper grass along with a few smaller fish plus I missed several bites. I jumped accross the lake to another main lake pocket and proceeded to catch about 12 or 15 more fish switching back and forth between the spinnerbait and the soft jerkbaits. If the pepper grass is matted, chunk the fluke or assassin and if the pepper grass was just under the surface then throw the spinnerbait. There is a good frog bite going on too so be sure to chunk a Stanley ribbet over the pepper grass and pads. Good luck.
