Choke Canyon Bass Fishing Report July 28, 2005

Fishing Report: Largemouth bass to 8 lbs. are good throwing a chrome/black Heddon Lucky 13, chrome/black Boy Howdy or Crazy Shad early at sunrise and later on drop shot rigged baby bass 4″ Yamamoto Senko and a 1-1/4 oz. or 1-1/2 oz. watermelon/red Falcon jig with a matching Sweet Beaver trailer working the edge of grasslines in 20-30 feet. White bass are fair on live minnows and vertically jigging chrome CC spoons around main lake points at night under lights in 12-20 feet. Crappie to 2 lbs. are fair on live minnows, CC spoons and chartreuse Berkley crappie bits tipped with live minnows over brushpiles and pilings at night under lights in 6-15 feet. Channel and Blue catfish to 15 lbs. are good on live minnows, Lewis King punch bait and red wigglers under bird roosts in 6-18 feet. Yellow catfish to 20 lbs. are good on trotlines and juglines baited with hybrid bluegills and large goldfish.
