Houston County Bass Fishing Report July 17, 2005

Fishing Report 85 degree surface water temperature, water level 2′ lower than normal and water is stained with clear shallows. Very good black bass to 8 pounds on Saturday and Sunday . A 5 pound and 8 pound bass caught before sun up around heavy stumps in 8′ water with a Baby Brush hog with red and blue flake. An 8 pound bass caught at the pump station using a june bug/red flake plastic worm in the afternoon. Five bass caught and released in the 17-19″ range in 12′-14′ water at noon using a 10 1/2 inche June bug with red flake worm. Good crappie east of the marina in 16′ water and 8′ from the surface using live minnows. Very good bream off piers and around brush using live worms. Good catfish using chicken livers and stink bait evenings.
