Houston County Bass Fishing Report May 21, 2006

Fishing Report 81 degree surface water temperature, stained with clear shallows, water at normal level. Good black bass 1-3 pound to the right of the marina near banks and the point in 4-8′ water using watermelon red, motor oil and sunset: purple/maroon worms with the best time at 8 AM and evening. 6 pound bass on lime green rooster tail spinner. Good crappie keeping 7 fish to 1 1/4 each and throwing back many 1/2 to 3/4 pound using live minnows with evenings the best time around dusk. Good bream fly fishing and using live worms at the back of the first big island and off piers towards sandy banks. Good catfish on trot lines using shad and off piers using chicken livers and processed baits.
