Houston County Bass Fishing Report October 17, 2004

Fishing Report Water temperature at the pump station area 67-68 degrees, normal level, clear. Good black bass to 5 pounds in 7-8′ average depths or 2′ shelves with 8′ or more drop offs using Carolina rigged red Wave worms or Tequila Red Renegade worm or sour grape. Best times 8-9AM and again in the evening for bass catching 3 in the slot range of 14-21 inches. Very good crappie with 8-8:30 AM best, noon, and around 5PM at the dam area and at the pump station using live minnows. 10-14 fish averaging just over one pound each. Good bream using live worms off piers and near the islands. Good catfish on trot lines using cut shad evenings.
