Lake Fork Bass Fishing Report April 1, 2005

This week on Lake Fork the Lake is full and the water temp. is 57 main lake and can be much warmer in the back of the creeks in protected areas. The grass is growing and bright green. The bite slowed some as the cold fronts just keep on coming. 12 fronts in 15 days pushed the fish off the south banks almost completely. The north bank is protected from the cold north wind and the prevailing warm wind is from the south witch blows the warm surface temp to the north bank so those fish stayed put. All week it has blown from the south hard enough that you couldn’t fish on the north bank and this made the bite tough. Yesterday the wind switched to the north west and allowed us to return to the north bank and we did well. The fish are on beds or were on beds everywhere you look. It was 82 yesterday and the fish were on the move to the back of the creeks. We are just now seeing the Gar move in which means the main migration of fish are right behind them.. Lake Fork is about to come to life. A week of warm weather is all we need. Good luck and we’ll see you on the lake.
