Lake Fork Bass Fishing Report April 13, 2010

This week on Lake Fork the water level is about full pool and the temp. is near 70 depending where you are on the lake as creeks can be warmer. The fish are bedding in the protected areas back in the creeks. Main lake fish are still prespawn. The further toward the dam you are the more prespawn they are. Back of creeks and secondary points have been best this week. Weightless plastics have been best with watermelon and green pumpkin the best colors. Fish slow as the fish are bedding and don’t want to chase your bait. The reaction bite is still strong on rip minnows and chatter baits as well as spinnerbaits. Fish em fast or slow roll. This is the norm for Lake Fork this time of year. Norm is a good thing as we have been behind this year due to a mean winter. Grass flats are holding fish. This is where the reaction bite will shine as you can cover water. Best of luck and we’ll see you on the great Lake Fork!
