Lake Fork Bass Fishing Report June 20, 2007

This week on Lake Fork The lake is just about full and in great shape. The water temp. is low to mid 80’s. It’s time to hydrate as dehydration is a big problem in the summer. Also wear your sunscreen and a hat. What a great spring we had and hopefully a great summer is in store. The shallow vegetation is the place to start. Top water early. as the top bite slows try wacky or any weightless baits in watermelon or shad. Spinnerbaits and small cranks are catching some good fish. When the bite slows back out up to 15 foot and try a Carolina rid or Texas rig worm. The deep fish are about to get on. As I write this it is the first day of summer and the forecast is for it to heat up and that will help the deep bite. We have been in a late spring deluge and the deep bite needs high bright skies to set it off. This will push the suspended fish to the bottom. Try jigging spoons, drop shot and Carolina rigs. Don’t hesitate to try swim baits on the deep hogs. Hope this helps you catch some big ones. We’ll see you on Lake Fork. I am fishing 1/2 days only from now untill fall due to the afternoon heat. June is now booked up but I do have a few July 1/2 days left. Now is a great time to book your spring or fall trip as you can still get the days you want. Also a guide trip makes a great Christmas present.
