Lake Fork Bass Fishing Report October 14, 2010

week on Lake Fork the lake is 3 feet low due to summer evaporation and the water temperature is in the 70’s. The lake is in great shape for the fall feeding frenzy. numbers are good and a few big fish are lurking. Fall is my favorite time to be on Lake Fork as the temps are cooling and pressure is low due to back to school and hunting season has many in the woods instead of the lake. Top water is the big ticket right now with Yellow Magic’s the big player. Frogs and buzz baits back the Magic’s. Spinnerbaits will also catch fish especially as a backup bait to top water. When a fish misses the frog back it up with a weighted fluke type bait in the hole where the fish blew up. We have also been catching fish on a shaky head worm in blue fleck. Texas rigs will also work in the 10 foot range. The deep fish will start to bunch up soon as we cool and a C. rig with small plastics in the watermelon colors will catch ’em. Spoons and tail spinners are the ticket as the fish school towards the end of the month and into next. As they say the water is fine so jump in! See you on Lake Fork!
