Toledo Bend Bass Fishing Report February 11, 2002

The lake is at 170.41 ft., high pool is 172 ft. Cold weather has kept the water temperature in the mid to upper 40s pushing any shallow fish back into deep water. Deep diving crank baits, spoons, jigs and soft plastics fished in 10 to 18 foot of water working best. Bite is slow. When water warms back up to the 50s look for the bass to move back into typical pre-spawn pattern working their way to the backs of the coves for the spawn. Spinner baits, jigs, shallow diving cranks and soft plastics (tubes, craws, brush-hogs, flukes and wacky-worms) should be productive. White Bass are making their annual migration up the river. Road Runners, lip-less crank baits in chrome and Rinky Dink tail spinners working best. Some Crappie and Yellow bass (bar fish) being caught on shiners and jigs when fished in 15 to 25 ft of water over brush tops in the creek channels. Good reports of Catfish coming in on trot-lines with live or cutbait.

Water Temp: 40s
