Toledo Bend Bass Fishing Report January 22, 2002

The lake is at 170.03 ft. and falling slowly. High pool is 172 ft. Temperature is ranging in the upper 40s to low 50s. Better reports of Black Bass coming in this week as the water continues to clear and warm up. Best bite is in the afternoon in the backs of the coves with red or crawfish colored rattle-traps and spinner baits fished over grass located close to deep water. If the bite is slow over the grass back out to deeper water and work a jig or craw-worm off the ledges and shelf dropping into deep water. White Bass are making their annual migration up the river. Road Runners, lip-less crank baits in chrome and Rinky Dink tail spinners working best. Good reports of Crappie being caught on shiners and jigs when fished in 15 to 25 ft of water over br
