Striper Fishing On Lake Texoma Saturday, July 14. Lake level: 617.65. Water Temperature: 84 degrees. Water clarity: Clear. Generation: 8:00 a.m. till 11:00 p.m. Floodgates: Closed. Weather: low 72 / high 82 / cloudy with a breezy east wind. Fishing time: 6:00 a.m. till 12:00 noon. Summer fishing can be good one day and bad the next. A front came in with an east wind this weekend. Fishing was good on Friday and Saturday, but getting the silversides to feed on Sunday was a problem. Two boats went out Saturday and they both returned around noon just a couple of stripers short of a limit in each boat (see pictures). Both boats used live gizzard shad to catch their fish in Striper Alley. We could not get the fish to hit slabs. Everyone reported having to throw back twenty+ inch fish. With the summer heat, always get an early start and enjoy a great day of striper fishing. You should be able to catch a limit before it gets too hot. The new spawn of gizzard shad is large enough to fish with and they are being found in large schools along sandy beaches and rock points.
