Richland Chambers Reservior Guide Steve Schmidt Lake Report: Sunday, November 18, 2001 Water Color: Stained Depth: 3 below normal Water Temp: 61 to 63 degrees Forecast: Overcast – high of 65 with SW winds 5 – 10 mph Boat Ramp: Oak Cove Marina Equipment:Rod – Hookhider 7ft 149 C Medium Heavy Reel – Spidercast SCP-600 Line – P-Line 15 lb. Lure – S.O.B 3/8 oz White with two willow leaf spinnerbait Black Bass: The early morning top water bite was pretty slow only had a few blow ups on the baby bass color Pop-R with a buck tail. We worked the mouth of split creek. Worked the boat dock that the creek came close too. We left split creek and ran pass the 287 bridge and worked the Hydrilla. The key is to parallel the Hydrilla and burn the spinner bait as fast as you can. The grass starts from the south side of the bridge and the west side. Work the Hydrilla all the way to the end of the boat slips and the run across the creek. The key was to work the windy part of the Hydrilla . The bait fish were stacked up in the Hydrilla and the Bass would ambush the bait as it came by the Hydrilla. We caught fish from 1lb up to 2 ½ lbs but I’m here to say it was tough. Not a lot was being caught but it was a good day. You just have to keep working the Hydrilla. I believe we ran the hydrilla and four or five passes at it but it was well worth it. With it getting close to the Holidays I would like to wish everyone and there families a Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas. If your looking for a gift for your favorite fisherman or woman check . He was many lakes to chose from. They make great socking stuffers.
