Here is the article cleaned, corrected, and formatted while preserving the original tone and intent. I removed the old desktop-publishing character artifacts, corrected spelling and grammar, restored missing words where obvious, and organized it for modern readability.

Adventures in Mexico and Venezuela on the World Wide Web

The World Wide Web now has several new pages to offer surfers of the internet. Outdoor enthusiasts can now find information about some of the best hunting and fishing destinations in the world.

Pat McCarty, who brought The Texas Sportsguide to the world through the Internet, has been spending considerable time in Mexico and South America researching hunting and fishing opportunities. As a result of these travels, he has created several new web pages to introduce anglers and hunters to the excellent outdoor resources Mexico and Venezuela have to offer.

Mexico: An Overlooked Outdoor Destination

Mexico has often been overlooked as a getaway destination except for its heavily trafficked resort cities. Yet some of the world’s most beautiful natural landscapes can be found here in a remarkably pristine state.

Mexico truly has something for everyone, from tropical rain forests and rugged mountains to lakes, streams, scenic deserts, and white sandy beaches.

For outdoorsmen, Mexico is a hunting and fishing paradise. Many regions experience relatively light hunting and fishing pressure, leaving numerous remote and out-of-the-way destinations waiting to be discovered.

To showcase these opportunities, McCarty created a web page called Adventures in Mexico, where outdoorsmen can explore a wide range of activities available throughout the country.

Visitors can learn about:

  • Bass fishing
  • Saltwater fishing
  • Fly fishing
  • Scuba diving
  • Ecological tours
  • Archaeological ruin exploration
  • Bird hunting
  • Deer hunting
  • Exotic game hunting

The site can be found at:

Laguna Vista Resort

One of the resorts featured on the Adventures in Mexico pages is Laguna Vista, widely considered one of the premier waterfowl hunting destinations in North America.

More than 300 species of birds can be found in this region, many of which can be observed year-round. Laguna Vista offers a variety of outdoor vacation packages including:

  • Waterfowl hunting
  • Fishing
  • Bird watching
  • Ecological tours

For those wanting to experience the authentic natural beauty of Mexico, Laguna Vista offers an ideal destination.

More information about the resort can be found at:

La Marina del Rio

Another destination highlighted on the Adventures in Mexico pages is La Marina del Rio, a location long recognized for its rich hunting and fishing opportunities.

In recent years, the area has also become a popular destination for bird watching and ecological tours. Newly discovered Aztec ruins near the resort provide an additional attraction for visitors interested in exploring the region’s ancient history.

La Marina del Rio offers visitors a wide variety of outdoor activities, including:

  • World-class bass fishing
  • Saltwater fishing
  • Ecological tours
  • Bird watching
  • Blue Rock pigeon hunting
  • Dove hunting
  • Quail hunting
  • Duck hunting
  • Turkey hunting
  • Deer hunting

Information about these vacation packages can be found at:

Venezuela: A Land of Adventure

Farther south lies Venezuela, a country that seems almost untouched by time and full of extraordinary adventures for those willing to explore it.

Venezuela is anything but ordinary. Visitors encounter forests bursting with life and rivers of stunning beauty. Nearly every aspect of the country offers something new and unforgettable for the adventurous traveler.

Travel through the Venezuelan jungle is often done by traditional dugout canoe, crafted locally and remarkably sturdy. These canoes provide a safe and effective way to navigate the winding rivers and lush jungle waterways that lead deep into remote wilderness areas.

Bass Adventures in Venezuela

To introduce anglers to the fishing opportunities of Venezuela, McCarty’s web design company, Image Builder’s Advertising, has created two new web pages under the name Bass Adventures.

One destination featured is Uraima Falls Camp, located on the banks of the La Paragua River deep within the Venezuelan jungle.

The primary attraction here is fishing for Payara, a distinctive species found in greater numbers in Venezuela than anywhere else in the world. Payara are aggressive predators known for their impressive size and powerful strikes.

Anglers fishing at Uraima Falls Camp commonly catch an average of seven fish per day, with an average weight of around 17 pounds per fish.

The jungle surrounding the camp is also rich with wildlife and plant life rarely seen elsewhere in the world, making the trip as much an ecological adventure as a fishing expedition.

More information about this destination can be found at:

Peacock Bass at Lake Guri

Another destination featured on the Bass Adventures pages is Peacock Bay Lodge, located approximately 100 miles downstream from Uraima Falls Camp on the shores of Lake Guri.

Combination trips that include both camps are available.

Peacock Bay Lodge is well known throughout Venezuela for its exceptional peacock bass fishing. Only recently have North American anglers begun to learn about the outstanding fishing opportunities available here through the Bass Adventures web pages.

The peacock bass is a beautiful and powerful game fish. Anglers visiting Lake Guri can often expect to land 10 to 20 peacock bass per day, making it one of the most exciting freshwater fishing experiences available anywhere.

More information about peacock bass fishing and other jungle adventures can be found at:

Puerto Vallarta Sportfishing

Another Bass Adventures web page introduces visitors to the exciting fishing opportunities around Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Although still under construction at the time, the page will showcase the region’s excellent offshore sportfishing and the beauty of this romantic coastal destination.

Looking Ahead

According to McCarty, the number of hunting and fishing lodges featured on the Bass Adventures web pages will continue to grow.

“We will more than double our hunting and fishing lodges in Mexico and South America advertised on the Web in ’97.”

Many of the hunting and fishing resorts featured on these pages remain relatively undiscovered by large crowds, offering outstanding opportunities for outdoors enthusiasts.

Whether your interests include hunting, fishing, bird watching, or ecological exploration, these destinations provide remarkable adventures for those seeking something beyond the ordinary.
