Pat - Publisher Texas SportsGuide

From the early 1980s through 2000, Pat worked as a part-time professional bass fishing guide while living on Weir Creek on Lake Conroe, Texas. During those years he developed strong ties within the Texas bass fishing community and spent countless days on the water with anglers from across the state and country.
Pat was sponsored by Skeeter Boats and Boots Follmar Marine of Houston, Texas, one of the most respected Skeeter dealerships in the region during the height of the Texas bass fishing boom. While guiding and fishing tournaments, he also represented Boots Follmar Marine each year at the Houston Boat Show, helping introduce anglers to Skeeter bass boats and the rapidly growing tournament bass fishing scene.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s Pat competed in numerous regional bass tournaments, including the Angler’s Choice Pro-Am circuit and various team tournament series. Many of these events were held on legendary Texas bass lakes such as Sam Rayburn Reservoir, Toledo Bend Reservoir, Lake Livingston, Lake Texoma, Amistad Reservoir, Lake Palestine, Cedar Creek Reservoir, Possum Kingdom Lake, and Choke Canyon Reservoir.
In addition to guiding on Lake Conroe, Pat occasionally conducted guide trips on Sam Rayburn, Toledo Bend, and Richland Chambers Reservoir, sharing his knowledge of seasonal bass patterns and structure fishing techniques with visiting anglers.
One memorable highlight during this period was guiding an NFL players bass fishing tournament held in the Atchafalaya Basin in Louisiana on behalf of Skeeter Boats, an event that brought together professional football players and bass anglers for a unique day on the water.
These years on the Texas tournament trails and guiding on many of the state’s premier bass lakes helped shape Pat’s lifelong understanding of largemouth bass behavior, seasonal patterns, and reservoir fishing strategies.
Today that experience continues to influence the articles and fishing guides published on Texas SportsGuide.
