Texas Black Bass Unlimited is planning what is shaping up to be the "Event of the Year." The goal? A massive fundraising effort to place channel markers in the Trinity River on Lake Livingston, stretching from the Highway 190 bridge to the Highway 19 bridge.
As many Lake Livingston regulars know, running this area can be treacherous. Submerged logs and stumps are notorious for ruining lower units, hulls, and—more importantly—potentially throwing passengers from their boats. TBBU is stepping in to make the river safer for everyone.
A World-Class Weekend at The Woodlands
The fundraising kicks off with a lavish banquet on Friday, October 15th, at The Woodlands Conference Center and Resort.
Nestled in the East Texas forest, the resort offers:
- Elite Golf: Home to the prestigious "Houston Open."
- Fine Dining: A memorable culinary experience at the Glass Menagerie Restaurant.
- Luxury Lodging: Special discounted rates at the Woodlands Inn for all event participants.
The Gala Auction
The Friday evening banquet features a high-stakes auction where attendees can bid on:
- Fully rigged bass boats.
- Trolling motors, depth finders, rods, and reels.
- Guided trips with famous pros donated by GALA sponsors.
The "Super People" Tournament at Stow-A-Way Marina
The celebration continues at Stow-A-Way Marina on Lake Conroe. Boots Follmar Marine has graciously agreed to donate 50% of the proceeds from their Annual Super People Tournament to the Livingston River Marking Project.
Tournament Highlights:
- Divisions: Parent/Child, Husband/Wife, Team, and a Special Celebrity Division.
- Celebrity Seat: The back seat of the "Celebrity Boat" will be auctioned off, giving one winner the chance to fish with legends like TV host John Hope.
- Family Fun: Kids' casting contests, free boat rides, and massive giveaways including life jackets, batteries, and outboard props.
