There’s something about a new tournament season that feels like the first warm morning after a long winter—boats idling at the ramp, coffee steaming in the console, and just enough anticipation to make a man double-check his knots.
The 2010 Lone Star Series is shaping up to be that kind of season.
This year, anglers fishing the North and Central Divisions won’t just be chasing points and bragging rights. They’ll be casting for a shot at a brand-new 2010 Nissan Titan truck—valued at $35,000—waiting at the Lone Star Series Championship in October. No fine print. No maybe about it. The grand prize is guaranteed.
2010 Tournament Schedule
North Division
- February 27 – Cedar Creek
- March 27 – Eagle Mountain
- April 24 – Ray Roberts
- May 8 – Ray Hubbard
Central Division
- February 13 – Belton
- March 27 – Conroe
- April 17 – Stillhouse
- May 22 – Livingston
Championship
- October 16–17, 2010 – Lake Lewisville
It’s a clean, no-nonsense lineup—good lakes, good timing, and just enough spacing to let patterns develop and anglers adjust. The kind of schedule that rewards consistency as much as it does a single big bite.
Stay in the Loop
For anglers who like updates without chasing them down:
- North Division updates: Text North to 53318
- Central Division updates: Text Central to 53318
Simple. Direct. The way most fishermen prefer it.
Marquee Sponsors
The Lone Star Series continues to lean on strong backing from companies that understand the sport and the people in it:
- North Texas Nissan
- Lock-n-Haul
- Oakley Big Bass Tour
These are the folks helping keep the lights on at weigh-ins and the wheels turning down the highway.
Entry and Payouts
Entry forms are available online, and the payout structure remains solid and straightforward. Based on a 75-team field with 90% payback after the Championship Fund and polygraph allocation:
- 1st – $2,750
- 2nd – $1,350
- 3rd – $950
- 4th – $650
- 5th – $550
- 6th – $450
- 7th – $375
- 8th – $350
- 9th – $325
- 10th – $300
- 11th – $275
- 12th – $250
- 13th – $225
- 14th – $200
- 15th – $180
Total payout: $9,180
An additional $750 per event is set aside for the Championship Fund, with $300 allocated for polygraph testing. Big Bass is sweetened with a $10 per team entry, paying back 100%.
It’s a structure built on fairness—reward the winners, fund the championship, and keep the playing field honest.
Bonus Programs
The 2010 Lone Star Series is also sanctioned with several well-known bonus programs, giving anglers even more ways to cash a check:
- BPS Tournament Rewards
- PAA Pay Day
- Quest
- Skeeter Real Money
- Triton Gold
These programs add another layer of opportunity for those running eligible rigs and gear.
A Little Extra in the Tackle Box
In a nice touch for this season, Lake Fork Trophy Lures will provide each angler who pays their annual membership fee with a choice of premium line—either FluoroHybrid Pro (14 or 20 lb) or Powersilk (15 or 21 lb). One per angler, but enough to spool up confidence before the first cast.
Tournament fishing has always been about more than just the weigh-in. It’s early mornings, long runs, missed hooksets, and the one bite that makes the whole day worth it.
And come October on Lake Lewisville, one team will be driving home with a new truck—while the rest will already be thinking about next season.
Because in this game, the chase never really ends.
