The lake is at 163.19 ft msl, almost 9 ft below high pool (over a foot lower since last week). SRA is drawing the lake down to 163 ft msl and will beholding it at this level to make repairs to the dam surface. Extreme caution should be used when running areas other than the river channel proper. Good numbers of small fish being caught but the larger fish are harder to come by. A number of patterns are working as the lake continues to fall. Shallow fish in 1 to 2 ft of water along grass edges are being caught on buzz baits, spinner baits, top water plugs, finesse plastics and shallow diving crank baits. ¼ oz. Chrome traps also working when fished in the creek channels. Main lake points, creek drops and river channel shelf and ledges are also holding fish in 8 to 12 ft of water. Crank baits, jigs and Texas or Carolina rigs working best. As the water temperature starts cooling and the lake stabilizes, look for schooling activate to increase. Crappie starting to gang up on the river channel ledges. Shiners working best when fished over brush piles.
