But we have been finding fish in the backs of the coves that are in the north side. You will find a lot of grass cover that these fish will be holding close to until the mud lays. This water is the warmest,in these area’s. A few coves that you should look at is 309, Tree Top, Big Cedar, and Jones Branch to name a few. Once the rain stops for a few days and the mud settles and the lake clears up. You will find the fish start to move up in the shallows. A few coves off of Long Branch, Prairie Creek and the old 287 Road Bed. On the north side of Hickey island the road bed that leads up in to a little flat that holds fish . A few good colors on Soft plastic Watermelon, Pumpkin/ Chart , Black with red fleck/Chart tail will fish these both ways Texas Rig and Carolina- Rig . If I have a problem getting any of these big ladies to take your bait you might want to try Wacky Worm technique. Tips: I wanted to let every one know there is a great tool out there available to help in you on weekend fishing trip or if your a Tournament fisherman. You need to check Aerial Angler you can find Dennis at www.aerialangler.com. You can see the lake in such a different way. He will have Richland Chambers hopefully by the April.
