Adventures in Mexico™ brings the excitement of the Mexican bass hunt to the homes of web users around the world. The web pages were designed by Pat McCarty to attract fishermen to the outstanding fishing resources that Mexico has to offer.
Mexico provides bass anglers with some of the finest bass fishing in the world, and McCarty presents some of the very best bass fishing adventure trips available in Mexico. The pages can be found at:

Lake Comedero
Lake Comedero is known as “Mexico’s Greatest Bass Fishing Hotspot.” Located about 100 miles northeast of the popular resort city of Mazatlán, this secluded mountain lake in the Sierra Madre range offers adventurous anglers cool, clear water teeming with thousands of hungry black bass.
Lake Comedero does not really have a single “best fishing season.” Fishing is excellent throughout the year, with daily catches often averaging more than 100 bass per boat during any season.
Lake El Salto
Lake El Salto is often called “the world’s greatest bass fishing lunker hole.” This is one of Mexico’s newer bass fishing lakes and is located about 50 miles north of Mazatlán. El Salto holds one of the largest populations of trophy-size bass of any lake in the world.
Lake Oviachic
Lake Oviachic is known as “Mexico’s most accessible bass fishing hotspot.” It lies on the west side of Mexico along the Gulf of California and offers anglers convenient travel access combined with outstanding fishing opportunities.
Other Mexican Bass Lakes
The Adventures in Mexico™ pages also provide information on several other excellent Mexican bass lakes, including:
- Presa Española
- Presa Los Mimbres
- Presa Cuchillo
- Cajón de Peña
- The famous Lake Guerrero
Lake Guerrero is possibly the oldest and most popular of Mexico’s bass fishing lakes. It is located only about 165 miles south of the Texas border, making it just a three-hour drive from Texas.
Each lake is described on its own page, where anglers can find detailed information including:
- Lodging facilities
- Trip costs
- Recommended lures
- Transportation information
- Fish limits for each lake
- Weather conditions
- Guide services
- General travel information
Mexico: An Overlooked Outdoor Paradise
Mexico has often been overlooked as a getaway destination except for its heavily trafficked resort cities. Yet some of the world’s most beautiful natural landscapes can be found here in a remarkably pristine state.
The country offers something for everyone, from tropical rain forests and rugged mountains to scenic deserts, lakes, rivers, and white sandy beaches.
Mexico is truly a hunter’s and angler’s paradise, where fishing pressure is relatively light and many remote dream destinations still exist for those willing to explore.
Puerto Vallarta Sportfishing
Another favorite sportfishing destination of McCarty’s is Puerto Vallarta. A new web page has been created to introduce visitors to the incredibly picturesque setting of this coastal town.
Marlin and sailfish are popular sport fish in the waters off Puerto Vallarta, and Cajón de Peña, a lake nestled in the scenic mountains of the Sierra Madre range, offers excellent bass fishing nearby.
