Striper Fishing On Lake Texoma Sunday, August 12. Lake level: 613.14. Water Temperature: 85 degrees. Water clarity: Clear. Generation: 3:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Friday, not generating Saturday and Sunday. Weather: low 73 / high 95 / partly cloudy with a light wind. Fishing time: 6:30 a.m. till 12:30 a.m. Our water temperature reached 85 degrees six feet down at the dam and 90 degrees on the surface Thursday. This is the point when catching a limit of silversides gets real tough. We fished eight boats Friday and Saturday and none of them came back to the dock with limits. Artificial lure fishing slowed last weekend and our bait tanks are back in the boats. We have been successful catching enough gizzard shad to fish with. Captain Joe Grigar took the Ritchie Smith group from Munday, Texas out Sunday for some summer morning fishing. The four fished with live gizzard shad. The first three hours produced very few stripers. They ended up landing 35 stripers to six pounds along ledges in the Washita arm of the lake near Platter Flats. Striper fishing has been fair to good in the Island View, TI Point, Oklahoma Flats and Dam areas this week. Several catfish were caught on small slabs and cut bait. Warning!!! Be careful!!! The rain missed us again this week and the lake level is very low and still dropping. Many places you are used to boating are very shallow. Have fun catching fish and practice safe boating. Bite slows later but some fish coming on plastics in 10-20 foot of water. Jigs and tubes are still working around floating structure. Night fishing is still fair to good on cranks and spinner baits, plastics for smallmouth. Report submitted by professional guide J. B. Webb
