Water temp is ranging from high 80s to low 90s. The lake is at 168.54 ft (3 ½ ft. below high pool) and falling about half foot per week pulling the shallow fish into deeper water. The bite is extremely slow and the larger fish are harder to come by. If you can find some deep grass, you should find some fish but the deep grass is very limited. Most of the fish are suspended over the thermocline in deep water and the bite is slow. Better fishing at night. During the day, start off working a top water plug, buzz bait or spinner bait over grass close to deep water. As the sun gets up, back out to the channel shelf and ledges, and main lake humps close to deep- water sloughs. Carolina or Texas rigs with soft plastics and deep diving crank baits working best when fished in 10 to 18 ft. ledges and drops around structure. Watch for schooling bass chasing shad. Traps and shallow diving cranks working best when schooling. .
